Cantina La Torre and
the village Castel Rocchero

Hiking and then a glass of wine.

This trail is perfect for those who want to experience hiking between the vineyards, an Italian village and then be able to finish with a glass of wine at "Cantina La Torre di Castel Rocchero". The hike is 3.4km long. The start of the trail is only 11km from our farm and takes only 15min to reach by car.

Village Castel Rocchero

Castel Rocchero is a charming little village in Monferrato, Piedmont, surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards. The landscape has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014 and reflects the area's long and rich wine tradition.

With around 395 inhabitants, the municipality is small but important in wine production. Barbera, Moscato and Brachetto are among the wines produced here – wines that are typical of the region. A central player is the La Torre winery, which combines tradition with a modern facility and is well known for its visits, wine tastings and its strong connection to the local wine landscape.

Cantina La Torre di Castel Rocchero

Cantina La Torre di Castel Rocchero is a historic Italian wine cooperative founded in 1953 in the Monferrato region of Piedmont. It is known for its unique five-story "vineyard tower" built in 1956.

They produce DOC and DOCG wines such as Barbera, Dolcetto, Brachetto, Pinot Noir and Moscato. It is one of the last three remaining tower-based vineyards in Italy.

They also have an open bar where you can just drop by and have a glass of wine without having to book in advance. There is also a wine shop attached to the bar.

From our farm it is 11km and takes 15min by car to drive there. You park the car at Cantina La Torre and then you start the trail there and also end the trail there.
