Our history

We are a couple who have lived our life in Västerås, Sweden. We started thinking about a dream to do something new in life. The more we learned about Italy, the more obvious it became that we should try to realize the dream of doing something new in life. We decided to do a long trip in Italy in one month when we visited Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, Tuscany, Emila-Romagna in the order mentioned in the search to find a bed & breakfast that also have some type garden with culture.

When we had visited all the regions, we both felt that the region we liked most was Piedmont and the "golden triangle" where all the vineyards are located. What we think one of the most beautiful areas of central/northwest Italy where we looked for property.

We looked at a lot of properties for sale in the "golden triangle" of Piedmont. But the first time we came to Acqui Terme we fell in love with the town, one of the most beautiful small towns in Piedmont in our opinion. But still big enough that there is a lot of restaurants and shops in the city.

We looked at a couple of properties for sale in the surroundings of Acqui Terme. But when we came to the vineyard Podere Luciano (the name of the vineyard when we bought it) we fell in love again and this time for the vineyard and the surroundings.

The farm we found matched many of our requirements on our list, requirements that were often not quite easy to combine. For example, the requirement to find a vineyard with a couple of hectares of vineyards that should be so close to a city that you can walk to the city. The city should of course have a lot of restaurants and enoteca as well. In addition, we wanted a fairly large Bed & Breakfast where we could live in a separate part ourselves.

We definitely wanted a pool, just that requirement meant that many objects on the market did not fit in.

But as we said, we finally found our dream place in Podere Luciano, which we have now named Podere Tonette. We hope that our care in choosing the vineyard will give our guest a enjoyable stay at our Bed & Breakfast.

We bought Podere Luciano which we have now named Podere Tonette

Podere means farm in English. We then put our names Tore and Janette together so it became Tonette, from which we came up with the name.
